who i am

Hello, I am Ethan Li! I was born in New York, although I’ve spent the majority of my childhood in Southeast China.

Raised day to day in a family owned restaurant where adaptability and work ethic were essential, I blend my skills in optimization and problem-solving with my passion for art, culminating in a unique approach to communication design that draws from diverse experiences and disciplines

I’m a Communication Design Major at the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). I’m very excited for years to come within DAAP, along with everything I will learn and experience from both my courses and internship experiences.

I’m also working on a Minor in Real Estate, Professional Sales, and Marketing. Lastly, I’m (slowly but surely!) working on my Game Art Certificate.

Some of my hobbies and interests that I’m passionate about include:

• Cooking

• Digital painting

• Traditional ink illustrations

• 2D animation (especially character modeling and rigging)

• Rhythm games (osu!)

• PC hardware and systems integration

• Magic: the Gathering and Pokémon!

• Finance and investing

• Data science, as I managed and lead a data science operation involving newly-released-to-the-public cutting-edge machine learning technology

• World-building and creative writing; by creating believable and relatable writing that reaches out to the reader on a personal level
